At this beautiful spot, you’ll stay in fully equipped tents that transport you to distant worlds, without leaving the Netherlands. You’ll sleep in style, surrounded by water, nature and wide open views. You don’t have to haul camping gear: our unique accommodations are fully furnished. Camping in a Tipi or Yurt
At the island, you can spend the night in five different types of tents, each with its own charm, cozy appearance, and level of comfort. Whether you’re coming with your partner, taking your family along, or going on an adventure with friends – there’s something for everyone. Our fully equipped tents are inspired by traditional dwellings of nomadic peoples, such as the tipi, yurt, and Gobi tent. Below, you can read what to expect:

  • Camping in a Native American Tipi
    This is the primal form of camping. The tipis at CampSpirit are spacious, atmospheric, and feature their own fire pit in the middle of the tipi. The feeling of sleeping in a tipi is almost magical – especially when you can see at night the starry sky through the opening at the top.
  • Staying in a Mongolian Yurt
    The yurt is an authentic nomadic tent with a transparent dome in the roof. You can literally look at the stars from your bed. The wooden frame with the countless roof spokes and the round shape of the tent create a cozy, sheltered feeling. The wood stove keeps it wonderfully warm inside. A unique experience you won’t forget.
  • Comfortable stay in the Giant Fir
    This tent is spacious and comfortable, with standing height, making it suitable for couples and families. Outside, you can sit under the awning, enjoy a hammock, and there’s a wood stove.
  • Simple glamping in a Bell Tent
    The Bell tent is simple but comfortable, with standing height. There are 2-person, 4-person, and 6-person Bell tents, all fully furnished and with a wood stove outside.
  • The unique Gobi Tent
    This tent stands out with its charming design and warm appearance. Perfect for those looking for something different from standard glamping. Experience it for yourself!

More than just a place to stay
CampSpirit is not your typical campsite. It’s a place where meeting, relaxing, and discovering are at the heart of everything. In our large Tipi Lounge, everything comes together: a central spot where guests can meet, share stories, make music, or simply do nothing. You can light a fire here, read, play games, and it’s also a place where the children on the island often play the game Werewolves together.

For children, there’s a children’s book exchange station where you can swap books, and there are coloring books and board games available. Outside, there are plenty of opportunities to play and be active. Think pétanque, kubb, badminton, or just enjoying a game of frisbee on the field. This small-scale campsite is perfect for a camping holiday with children.

Back to basics, but with all the necessary facilities!
Although you’re on an uninhabited island, camping at CampSpirit is far from basic. The excellent toilet facilities on De Kluut Island offer four warm showers, sinks, and toilets with toilet paper. There are two shared refrigerators and electricity to charge your mobile devices.

From the swimming dock, you can take a refreshing dip in the clean Veluwemeer. The former harbor at the tip of the island is closed off to boats and now forms a beautiful inland lake on the island. It’s a great place to chill, especially when the wind is coming from the south or west, as it’s well sheltered here.

You can grab a surfboard or kayak to explore the Veluwemeer and the other islands. Our ferry runs four times a day to Flevoland, from where you can take various day trips.
